How best Best / to support the latex mold?
I Outa garden ornaments sand / cement using latex molds What is the best and easiest to support. I think the sand is not strong enough. Also, havent access to tools to wooden frames, etc.
Does the original mold was made of? If so, put the rubber mold again, then create Pan "supporting the mother" on the rubber, plaster of Paris and the burlap strips. The mother mold is multi-piece, and establish where the dividing lines that go can be difficult. This is the traditional method of supporting a rubber mold, and the best way I know. You can also make the mother mold fiberglass, expanding spray foam, etc, depending on size, but the distribution is easier for a beginner who has no access to the tools. This is really just a suggestion to the head in the right direction – we need better information I can give here. Step usually 1-2 weeks course from students of sculpture mold-making, and even then, some have problems. Try to find a good book on the subject, or if a university or community college in your area with a sculpture program to see if the teacher or one of the advanced students can give advice.
