What snake is red, yellow and orange in the bottom of your body gray?

Today we leave the court work and killed a snake, was a pile of old wood, in a fallow field in the country. The serpent was a dark gray on the top, but the bright red set has been that of bright orange, bright yellow. It may have been small black square spots at the bottom, and staining, we can not remember for sure. We have no idea what type of snake it is. Anyone know? Is it toxic?

A black, charcoal gray on top, yellow / orange / red belly ring, small red, yellow or orange around the neck is a necklace of snakes, probably no more than 20 inches (and big enough) These snakes are completely harmless unless the larvae of ants, termites, millipedes, worms, etc. Please buy a field guide in his native snakes instead of killing things just because you know nothing about of them. Ignorance is not good for anyone.
