How long does it take to charge a battery of 12 V deep cycle with a 10 watt solar panel?
I wonder if the number of 10 watt solar panel is 10 watts per day, or is constantly adding 10 watts? Is there a time limit to 10 watts, is added as 10 watts per second or 10 watts per minute and so on?
10W solar panel means with maximum efficiency (noon on a flat panel in the sun, reaching 90 degrees), will 10 watts (at any time). Watts = volts x amps 12 volt battery needs a "joiner" knowledge of at least 13 volts to the load, 13.5 volts is better. Thus, if the panel output voltage is less than 13 volts it wont do anything. Same if you are, 10 / 13.5 = .74 amp. (three quarters). There will forever and a day to charge a completely discharged deep cycle ………. consider a small 110v battery charger is making 3.5 Amps (or 3 x 110 = 330 watts) and a car alternator is putting out from 20 to 50 amps at 14 volts (280 to 730 watts).
